Tameside sits on the eastern edge of Greater Manchester, where the city meets the Pennines and the Peak District. Its nine towns each have their own character, from the canal-side streets of Stalybridge and Ashton’s busy market to Mossley’s hilltop terraces and the village feel of Gee Cross. Metrolink, rail links and the M60 and M67 make it an easy base for commuting into Manchester, while countryside is never far away.
