Hi, My name is John and I’m the owner of Home estate agents.Having lived in Stalybridge for most of my life and having worked all around the north west, in2003, I found myself in my first estate agency role; working for Bridgford’s in Stalybridge.
I quickly learned that this was my perfect job, drinking tea, nosing round houses and taking fancy photos! After adapting to my new role and learning as much as I could about the estate agency industry, it wasn’t long before I was approached by Taylor & Wood, and offered a management position at their Stalybridge branch.
Within the year we had turned it into Stalybridge’s top selling agent. Five years on, in 2008, my wife somehow managed to simultaneously have our 4th and 5th children, at the same time as the housing market crashed. It wasn’t long before I found myself struggling to pay the nappy bill and our mortgage. Not wanting to leave the industry, in 2010 I made the brave decision to set up on my own as Home estate agents – a daunting prospect in the midst of a recession.
By the grace of God, and with the help of an amazing hardworking team, 7 years later we have been not only been Stalybridge’s but also Tameside’s top selling agent for 4 years running.
